Pathways Children's Church and WICK Print E-mail

It's the desire of the Children's Ministry Leadership to instill within the hearts of children the foundation of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord over all. We want to teach them biblical values so they can "light their WICK" and to establish a Christ-like life in their homes, school, community, and the world.

Children's Church at 9:00 am

Children's Church is the educational program offered to those children ages 4 through 6th grade and attend the 9:00 worship service. Children's Church is a large group, combined age classroom. Some of the activities the children will participate in are Bible stories, arts and crafts, puppet shows, and drama activities.  Children's Church meets in Room 116.

WICK - Worshiping in Christ's Kingdom at 10:30 am                    Image

W.I.C.K. is the education program for children ages 4 through 6th grade offered during the 10:30 am  worship service. Children stay with their parents at the beginning of service during the worship songs and then are dismissed to the program. Children are always welcome to stay with their parents but are most definitely invited to join the program. The children are currently divided into 3 age groups to ensure each group can be led in a curriculum relevant to their age.

*  Ages 4, 5, and Kindergarten: Action-oriented children's songs, a story based on the same passage as the 1st through 3rd grade class, question and answer time, craft time, memory verse, quiet prayer time and prayer requests. This class meets in Room 107.
*  1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade: Biblical reading and discussion, game, memory verse, and prayer groups for prayer requests.1st - 3rd graders meet in Room 113.
*  4th, 5th and 6th Grade: When children are dismissed, this age group proceeds immediately to their classroom. The curriculum this age group is currently utilizing is called Grapple and is distributed by Group publishing. 4th - 6th graders meet in Room 116.

Communion

Communion is offered to the congregation on the first Sunday of each month. Communion is a very important part of your child's walk with Christ. We encourage you to spend time teaching and helping your child to understand what they are committing to when they decide to participate in communion. There are resources in the prayer room and you're welcome to contact any of the Pathways Children's Ministry leaders for direction. When your child fully comprehends what communion is and when they ask to take part in it, and you wish for them to participate, please feel welcome to take your child out of class when it is time so they can participate with you during that time with the congregation.
