New Class: "Discover the Bible" begins on Wednesday, January 20!

For many people the Bible is confusing and difficult. We love the beautiful stories or the inspiring principles, but we struggle with the rest of the material. We believe the Bible is important, but we don't know how to get the most out of our reading. In 2010 Pastor Dave is offering a class that will help you see the Bible as a whole, understand how the stories fit, and know how to use Scripture as your guide for faith and living. Using this approach will revolutionize your Scripture reading.

Time: Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

How many weeks? 12 weeks. We will break for Ash Wednesday on February 17, and end our class on April 14.

Who may attend? 7th grade through Adult. For these twelve weeks we are including our student ministry and our adults attending the class. The first 40 minutes of the class will be teaching provided by Pastor Dave. The students will break into their activities (games, alone time with God, snacks, group prayer and small group activities) following the teaching time. The adults will meet together for small group discussion about the topic.

How much does it cost? The students get to attend for free. We are asking each adult to contribute twenty dollars for administrative costs. If the cost is a problem, let us know and plan to attend anyway.

Bonus!! The class is offered during STING and T4, so parents may participate while their children are connecting with our student ministries. Childcare for children 3rd grade and younger might be available if we have enough children needing care.

Double Bonus!! This class will also qualify as New Summit 101, our church membership class. If you are interested in joining New Summit or if you'd like to learn more about the church, each theme of the class will have a parallel to our experience as a church. When you're done, if you wish to join, you'll be ready to meet with our elders and appear before the congregation.
