All I Want for Christmas is a Meal that Lasts
“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink- even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk- it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen, and I will tell you where to get food that is good for the soul!”
“Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake. I am ready to make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the mercies and unfailing love that I promised to David. He displayed my power by believing my witness and a leader among the nations. You also will command the nations, and they will come running to obey, because I, the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, have made you glorious.” Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the people turn from their wicked deeds. Let them banish from their minds the very thought of doing wrong! Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
(Isaiah 55:1-7)

All I Want for Christmas is a Band-Aid: Heal Me, or Show Me Why!
“My thoughts are completely different from yours,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” (Isaiah 55:8)
As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Teacher,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or those of his parents?”
“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him.” (John 9:1-3)
But to keep me from getting puffed up, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from getting proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

All I Want for Christmas is a Toy: to be a Kid Again!
One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch them and bless them, but the disciples told them not to bother him. Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you, anyone who doesn’t have their kind of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God.” (Luke 18:15-17)

All I Want for Christmas is a Bridge: A Connection with God and Others
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others. (2 Corinthians 5:19 New Living Translation)
God's gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there's more life to come - an eternity of life! (Titus 3:7, The Message)
- Bridges and Dreams Make a Connection.
- When the Bridges are Relationships they express Love and Longing.
- Why Bridges Fail:
· From our Mistakes
· Even at our Best
· Out of our Habits
- Jesus is the Bridge God Builds
Jesus, thank you for coming to earth to be a bridge for me. I’m sorry for the mistakes I’ve made, and the habits that hurt me, others, and God. Even at my best, I know that I’m not perfect. I know that you are the only bridge to a friendship with God. I know that you came here to forgive me, to love me, and to help me follow you. I want you to be my forgiver and my leader. I will follow you, even though I don’t know all that you have planned for me. Thank you for other followers who will journey with me. Thank you for helping to heal broken relationships. Thank you for hope, purpose, forgiveness and peace. Thank you for being a bridge. Amen.

"Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true. He is the one who has the key of David. He opens doors, and no one can shut them; he shuts doors, and no one can open them. (Revelation 3:7)
The Key:
- Unlocks my Opportunities
- Locks out my Fears
The Irresistible Key:
- The Future I Resist is Risk
- The Future that Resists Me is Failure
God’s Promise is the Key:
- That Shapes My Dreams
- That Faces My Future
- That Leads Me in Risk
- That Restores Me in Failure
